Sweet Life Nail Bar & Lounge

Ladies: Forget the power lunch and head to this Stapleton nail shop instead. The last time we walked into this comfy primp zone, there were no less than two groups of women holding informal biz meetings while sipping martinis and getting their toes done. Right next to them, curled up in the lounge-y armchairs, were a nine-months-pregnant mom-to-be and her mom enjoying a little TLC before the big day. So whether you need some pampering or some on-the-go business planning, order a glass of wine and settle in; you’ve just found your go-to nail salon.

We all have our favorite manicurists, but Sweet Life Nail Bar and Lounge has an edge, a gentle one, that just might change your mind. It starts with the toxin-free, long-lasting, many-colored Zoya products that owner Diane Bilello insists on using, which leaves the Stapleton salon virtually odorless, a novelty in and of itself. But then sink back on this: Sweet Life's lounge-like atmosphere, replete with overstuffed armchairs and warm lamplight instead of fluorescent bulbs, takes the hurry and stress out of having your nails done, especially when you throw in a glass of wine, mimosa or Grey Goose martini from the bar. A bar? In a nail salon? Say no more. Mind changed.

If there weren't 200 bottles of nail polish in the entryway, you might confuse Sweet Life for a chic LoDo bar. Dressed in grays, whites, and blues, this Stapleton-based nail shop is upbeat, elegant, and inviting. Plus, with a drink menu that rivals your favorite Friday-night haunt, Sweet Life caters to women looking for a little relaxation in a glass (we enjoyed a glass of Menage a Trois, $8) along with the kind they're getting for their hands and feet (we recommend the Essential Plus mani and pedi, $65 booked together).

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Denver, CO:  More elegant than the traditional nail salon, but not nearly as expensive as the typical spa, Sweet Life Nail Bar & Lounge has given Denver a new way of looking at the personal service industry.  Located in Stapleton at 2373 Central Park Boulevard, Suite 105, Sweet Life offers a wide menu of choices, including the essential mani/pedi ($40), facials (ranging from $50 to $85), and all types of waxing.  While enjoying these services customers can recline on overstuffed chairs more reminiscent of a cozy living room than the usual nail shop.  What’s more, Sweet Life offers red and white wines by the glass, sparkling wine, mimosas and martinis.  Specialty drinks are available by request for parties.

The amazing 200 + selection of nail polish colors are all Zoya, which do not contain toluene, formaldehyde and DBP, harmful toxins found in most other brands. Zoya has been designed to provide the longest wear possible on natural nails and frequently receives top ratings in fashion, health and pregnancy magazines worldwide.  This makes Sweet Life an even more attractive destination for pregnant women and the health conscious.  Acrylic nails are not on the Sweet Life menu, but gel nails, which are odorless and help strengthen the nail bed naturally, are available.  Most nail services include a choice of essential oil for soap and lotion and a pressure-point massage.

“What we noticed about a lot of manicure places was the harried atmosphere, the fluorescent lighting, the strong smell of ammonia and chemicals,” says Diane Bilello, who owns Sweet Life and her domestic partner, Anna Hughes, who designed the space.  “We wanted to create something entirely different.  Not only do we offer non-toxic, natural products, but we’ve created a beautiful and comfortable setting that invites relaxation and camaraderie,” says Hughes.

Sweet Life carries Trollbeads, a unique jewelry line that has been featured in publications such as Vogue, Glamour and the New York Times Magazine.  Boulder-based Sanitas Skincare products are used for facials and are available for purchase, as is the Zoya collection.  A wide variety of artisan jewelry and natural products such as soaps, lotions, and essential oils will also be offered.

All types and sizes of groups and parties are happily accommodated in the nail bar’s 2000 sq. ft. space and Sweet Life specializes in bridal and bachelorette parties, wedding and baby showers, birthdays, sweet 16’s, and corporate events.  Party times are available during business hours as well as after hours by reservation.

Sweet Life is dedicated to recycling and using recycled and eco-friendly materials wherever possible.

Diane Bilello has run her own small business for over twenty years and Anna Hughes owns her own interior design business and jewelry line.

Sweet Life Nail Bar & Lounge is open Wednesdays from 10a – 6p, Thursdays from 10a -7:30p and Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10a – 6p.  It is closed Mondays and Tuesdays.  Appointments are recommended and walk-ins are always welcome.
